What’s up webfolk? When I last wrote for the software blog I was looking back at my first couple of years as a new blog writer and why I enjoyed using the blogging software program that goes by the name of Blogger. As fun as that was looking back at why I enjoyed using that program as much as I did back in the day it was also nice to know that I have moved beyond that experience and grown to be such a big fan of WordPress.
Just like the other system the WP is free for all to use and oh boy have I gotten good use out of it. They have their own domain to host sub-domain blogs just like all the other blogging software programs out there. It works good enough and the community that supports it is I have to say the best in the business as far as I am concerned. Where WordPress was able to distinguish itself though was in the stand alone product that made it easy as a 5 minute install on your own domain that really helped the program establish it as the leader of the self hosted blogging community.
Once you are done with the install that is where the real fun begins because you are given access to a whole new world and the canvas is blank and waiting for you to take over. From the millions of themes and plugins to the easy step by step ability to edit and tweak any part of the program to make it work and look the way you want it to. From all the consistent updates to the incredible support of the WordPress community it really is the total package for any want to be blogger out there.
One of my most favorite features that I get a lot of use out of now a days is the mobile WordPress app that I use for my android phone. When it comes to writing and posting for my blogs from my phone this app pretty much covers it all. I can even schedule my posts to be published some time in the future which is a great feature for someone that like to write a few posts in one day. So for those of you out there that may have stumbled across this post or the previous one where I talked about blogger and you have never tried a blogging program before. I would highly recommend you skip the others and jump right into the WordPress end of the pool you will not regret it.
